I really do love living here in the Pacific NW and I especially love to take photos of Seattle! I decided to create some collage sheets with some of my altered photography. This is my first sheet and it is available as a printed sheet or digital download for $3.50.

I do love it when it snows here in the Pacific NW! Everything brightens up and looks so cheerful, especially when you can be indoors with a big mug of hot chocolate! Here are a few photos from my garden :)

I have started working on some new collage sheets and here are my latest two :) As with all my collage sheets, they are $3 each. You can request them as a digital sheet which will be emailed as a jpeg or I can order them printed which takes a few days. I'm having so much fun putting these together! I'll post samples of work soon :)

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! I can't believe it's 2012 already, where on earth does the time go??

I remember moving to the US in February 1996 and certainly did not envision myself still here, but I'm certainly glad I stayed! If Joel and I had moved back to the UK when we planned, I may not be an artist today and now I can't even imagine being anything else! I love teaching what I have learned, seeing what my students and friends create and enjoying seeing the creative side come out of people who swear they are not 'artistic'. It's amazing what one can achieve with a little encouragement, lots of fun materials and a little bit of time. I have always said "You all have a creative side, you just haven't discovered it yet" I really do believe that!

As I move forward into 2012, I do so with a new perspective. I start a new part time job in a couple of days, which will leave me plenty of time to keep creating my art and to allow me to keep teaching. I'm looking forward to my new challenges ahead and also thinking about new classes, demos and art to create. I feel it's going to be a good year and I wish the same for all of you!

I have been going through a little bit of a 'wearable art' phase lately! I love creating jewellery and things you can wear or use. I have been creating collaged pendants on recycled bamboo tiles and then I strung them onto recycled silk sari ribbons. I hope you like them :)

2011 Sammamish Arts Fair

I am once again a participating artist in this years Sammamish Arts Fair. This will be my 5th year, which is as long as the art fair has been running :) I feel very fortunate to be a part of it every year and I have seen it grow from strength to strength. I am very proud to be a part of that and I hope to see it continue its success.

MINI FIBER ART DOLLS - $50

Saturday, December 10, 10am – 12pm

Create your own little fiber art doll for yourself or as a gift. We will be using an assortment of fabrics, embellishments, yarns, fibers and small clay faces that will help you create your own unique doll. All supplies are provided, including templates for you to take home. However, we will also be hand sewing, so bring along any glasses you may need for fine and small detailed work, and bring a pair of small sharp scissors for cutting fabric and fibers. Feel free to bring along any small embellishments that you can add to your doll that may have special meaning to you.

ARTIST TRADING CARD WORKSHOP - $55

Saturday, September 10, 10am – 1pm

Artist Trading Cards, or ATCs, are so much fun to make and addictive, too! In this workshop, you will have three hours to create as many ATCs as you can. Everything will be provided, including papers, rubber stamps, ephemera, embellishments, collage images, and lots of samples to help give you some ideas. Suggested tools to bring: Bring a pair of small sharp scissors for cutting fabric and fibers, and, if needed, eyeglasses for fine detailed work.

Stay and Play - $48

Have you ever reached the end of a class or workshop and thought “I wish I could stay longer’? Well, now you can with new 4 hour sessions! There is no set theme, there will be lots of decorative papers, collage images, embellishments and rubber stamps for you to play with, along with a mix of samples to help you. Bring along a sack lunch. There is also a Subway just across the parking lot. Oh yes, and there will always be cookies!
